ABOUT THE PROJECT
For Saudi Founding Day, Sahal's art director Mohamed Saeed designed 6 collages, from a clock in the sand to today's Riyadh, and Hajar wrote the words. They arrived flat: 312 layers of archive cut-outs, torn paper and grain. We turned them into one journey through 3 centuries: a single camera move, one cut, and a voice for Hajar's words.
Three centuries in eight frames
The story runs one way only: forward, from a clock in the sand to King Salman and the Crown Prince over Riyadh.
312 layers, six scenes
Each file held dozens of pieces. We took every scene apart first, to see what could move on its own.
The collage wakes up
On the left, the flat scene as designed; on the right, the same moment in the film. The paper settles, the clock hands turn, and the collage moves.

The whole film
The finished film at one frame every 2 seconds: 6 scenes that read as one unbroken move.

Flat to moving
One scene wipes from the flat collage Mohamed Saeed designed into the same moment in motion.
One move, no stops
The camera never stops. The clock gives way to the map, the map to the Imam, the Imam to the kings.
Generation after generation
On «جيلاً بعد جيل», each king arrives on his own torn paper card, in time with the voice.

The full row
Card by card, the row builds until every king sits in place, each portrait on torn paper with his years.

From the Imam to the kings
The camera leaves Imam Muhammad bin Saud in Diriyah and travels on to King Abdulaziz and the kings after him.
Timed to the voice
Hajar's script runs 15 lines in 44 seconds, voiced with Google AI Studio. Every scene changes on a line: «تعاقبت العهود» opens the Imam.
Today, and the emblem
The journey arrives at today's Riyadh. The Founding Day emblem draws itself, and hands over to Sahal.

The emblem
The last 12 seconds: King Salman and the Crown Prince over Riyadh, then the Founding Day emblem draws itself and hands over to Sahal.
Six scenes, one journey
Designed by Sahal's own team, moved and voiced by Esnine: 312 layers, 6 scenes, 50 seconds, one cut.
